IMITFair 2014: Trade show & conference for the Maritime Interiors industry

Hamburg, Rostock – IMITFair, the first international trade fair for the interior of yachts, superyachts and cruiseships, taking place from 14 to 16 October in Rostock, Germany is clearly on the road to success according to its organizers H2VC GmbH: „If we compare the number of participating companies with the launch events of comparable trade fairs, we have achieved a brilliant start“, states Fabian Lorbeer, Managing Director of fair organizer H2VC GmbH: „Approx. 70 companies from all over the world have already signed up to present their products and services at the fair, their innovations and methods at the parallel convention IMITFairCon or to support IMITFair as sponsor. Thus, it is no exaggeration to claim that already today IMITFair is the biggest international meeting point of the up-and-coming dynamic industry of highly specialized innovative suppliers of marine interior.“

Co-Managing Director Markus Koch justifies this evaluation with impressive figures: „Looking at the figures from comparable trade fairs like automotive, aircraft, and railway interiors expo underlines how strong the industry support is already in year one of our fair“, states Koch. Automotive Interiors Expo for example, taking place since 2010, gathered only 45 exhibitors in 2013, its forth year of operation. Only in 2014, year five of the fair, it has seen more participating companies (81) than IMITFair in its launch year already. On the other hand Railway Interiors Expo, starting in 2004, even required 10 years to achieve 74 exhibitors – a support IMITFair sees already today.

According to an evaluation of the organizers the great success of IMITFair is based on two factors. „On the one hand we observe a high demand for an industry trade fair in addition to the relevant public exhibitions at the Riviera, in Florida and Germany“, states Fabian Lorbeer. „Again and again we hear in our conversations with exhibitors that the highly fragmented industry with its numerous players on the market is requesting a B2B-trade fair in order to present themselves specifically to a tailored specialist audience, establish and extend business contacts. On the other hand IMITFair is benefiting significantly from the early and energetic commitment of our partners and sponsors as European Institute of Yacht Design, Bolidt, Pierrejean or Dölker + Voges, who surely have a lighthouse effect towards the industry.“

Before comparison with the above mentioned fairs Markus Koch sees exciting new possibilities opening up for the future: „Looking at Aircraft Interiors Expo, for example, that started 15 years ago with 350 trade visitors only – a figure we will surely surpass according to our current registrations – but attracted over 500 companies this year in Hamburg clearly illustrates the true potential of IMITFair: in cooperation with our exhibitors and partners we will develop this fair to THE worldwide industry meeting point around the design and interior of yachts, superyachts, and cruise ships within a few years. We therefore warmly thank all companies that have taken up the concept and are involved already in the first year and look forward to provide a clear boost to the marine interior industry as well as to the location of Rostock with our initiative.
