Beijing/China, September 17, 2013 – EnOcean, the worldwide leader in energy harvesting wireless solutions, has opened an office in Beijing. It is EnOcean“s first central office in China that bundles sales and customer support for energy harvesting wireless technology to meet the increased demand on the market. In addition, the office serves as a representation of the EnOcean Alliance in China. This further enables the non-profit organization to better serve its growing number of members in Asia, including companies such as Thermokon China, Beckhoff China, Kieback&Peter China, WAGO China, Dooya, Lutuo, SECO, Tiansu, Tongfang, Volksen, WRT, or YTL.

Since its introduction on the Chinese market in 2011, the EnOcean technology has made a great traction due to its unique characteristics: Freeing wireless sensors and actuators from batteries and powering communications by collecting energy from the surroundings – from motion, indoor light and temperature differentials. This eliminates complicated and costly cabling and creates the basis for batteryless wireless applications in building and industrial automation, smart homes and other markets.

„Particularly in the Chinese building sector, which is requested to fulfil high green building standards, energy harvesting wireless systems become increasingly popular in monitoring and controlling energy efficient buildings by offering no maintenance and high flexibility in system planning, implementation and operation,“ says Nan Xiao, Chief Representative China, EnOcean GmbH. „EnOcean’s new office takes account of this increased demand. Developers, manufacturers, building professionals and all other interested people are now offered a central place to go to learn more about energy harvesting wireless solutions in China.“

Showroom allows hands-on energy harvesting wireless

Besides customer and sales support, the office also serves as a showroom for demonstration of and training on batteryless wireless automation. This enables visitors to experience the benefits of an energy harvesting wireless installation in a real office environment. The solution consists of a central control, batteryless light switches, temperature and humidity sensors as well as occupancy and light sensors. These components build an intelligent system that automates lighting, HVAC, shading and access control in the office for energy savings, comfort and security.
