e-Spirit Reports the Most Successful Year in its History

DORTMUND, Germany and BOSTON, MA, February 29, 2012 – e-Spirit (www.e-Spirit.com), developer of the FirstSpirit content management system, reports the most successful year in its company history: 33 new customers from a wide range of industries selected FirstSpirit in 2011, including KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Geberit, BayernLB, Media-Saturn, the Swiss SFS Group, the Fives Group in France, and South Africa“s largest petrochemical group. As many existing customers have also upgraded their FirstSpirit installations, e-Spirit has increased its licensing revenues by 80 percent from the previous year.

e-Spirit continues to grow its customer base internationally through its expansion into the US market. In October the content management firm opened its US subsidiary, e-Spirit Inc., and first North American office in Boston. After years of consistent positive performance, e-Spirit was included in the Magic Quadrant for web content management 2011 by Gartner, a leading information technology research and advisory company.

Leadership in the international market

e-Spirit has strengthened its position as a leader in the international market for web content management in particular through its customer-oriented functional extensions and best-of-breed strategy. At the 2011 CeBIT show the company introduced its AppCenter for FirstSpirit which provides a capability that is unique on the market for simple interface integration for any applications inside the CMS. This includes online image databases, picture processing-, video-, geolocation- and web analysis services, as well as encyclopedias, Office programs, and countless other cloud-/software-as-a-service- (SAS) and desktop solutions. e-Spirit is also continuing to solidify its position for seamless integration of leading software and portal solutions with the CMS. In addition to the FirstSpirit modules for SAP NetWeaver and IBM WebSphere, since 2011 new integrations have been introduced for SharePoint 2010 and the Liferay portal.

„With our best-of-breed strategy and FirstSpirit as a content integration platform, we have maximum flexibility to offer companies the best solution for their current and future needs at any time“, explained Jörn Bodemann, CEO of e-Spirit. „The users are always the central focus for our product development, not just at the front-end, but at the back-end as well. First of all, the end users should be provided with an attractive website where they can find all the information, services, and applications they’re looking for and expect, as positive user experience translates into conversion, customer loyalty, and customer references down the road. But in addition, users inside the company, i.e. editors, marking specialists, administrators, and developers, should have access to software with maximum user-friendliness which they can use to easily and efficiently implement the content management processes. Optimization of the various routine processes saves time and thus reduces costs.“

Market prospects promising

Jörn Bodemann is optimistic about the future of the IT/web industry and the content management sector: „Leaders in every industry are recognizing the great value of content management as an ingredient to their company“s success. They see the value-adding potential in efficient editing processes and in centralized management and standardized publishing of content. This is relevant not only for company websites, group-wide intranets, complex portal environments and integrated e-commerce solutions, but also for print products and mobile devices, cross-channel activities or collaboration in Web 2.0 – and increasingly also in departments often thought to be far removed from the web such as production“.
